Job Title: Senior RWE Scientist
Location: Ireland
Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Start Date: ASAP
About Us
We are a scientific and analytical company dedicated to providing strategic and scientific/research support to life science companies. Our mission is to tackle complex challenges with tailored solutions that enable our clients to innovate and thrive in the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
As a growing company, we are looking for a PhD or Master’s-level RWE Scientist. The position will be based in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in epidemiological methods, data analysis, and healthcare datasets, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will support strategic initiatives, conduct quantitative analyses, and contribute to research projects that shape decision-making for biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare organisations.
1. Purpose of the Role
The Employee will perform epidemiological research and project activities using real-world healthcare data to support client programmes. The role requires involvement in both study design and quantitative analysis planning and execution. The Employee will contribute to and progressively lead projects end-to-end, operating under senior guidance on more complex engagements while taking ownership of analytical and methodological components across the portfolio.
2. Key Duties and Responsibilities
2.1 Study Design and Methods (as assigned)
Contribute to the design of observational studies, including defining research questions, eligibility criteria, time-zero, endpoints, and estimands.
Assist in drafting and amending study protocols and statistical analysis plans (SAPs), with increasing independence over time.
Apply appropriate epidemiologic methods (e.g., descriptive epidemiology, burden of illness, treatment patterns) under guidance from senior staff.
Develop familiarity with more advanced causal-inference methods (e.g., propensity score methods, target-trial emulation) through project exposure and mentorship.
2.2 Data Analysis and Analytical Oversight
Lead or co-lead the analytical execution of assigned projects using real-world data sources (registries, claims, EHR).
Direct and quality-control the work of analysts and statisticians; review outputs for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with the study design.
Perform hands-on analyses as required, maintaining clean and well-documented code repositories.
Translate analytical findings into clear, client-ready materials (methods summaries, results narratives, limitations, next steps).
2.3 Project Execution and Coordination
Manage day-to-day delivery for defined projects, including timelines, risk tracking, and inter-team dependencies.
Maintain action logs, version control, and complete project files in Company systems.
Produce timely, accurate deliverables: protocol sections, SAPs, analysis outputs, slide decks, and technical appendices.
2.4 Client and Internal Collaboration
Participate in client meetings; capture requirements and communicate implications for scope, timelines, and analysis plans.
Contribute to proposals, level-of-effort estimates, and statements of work under senior supervision.
Provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members and share knowledge across the wider team.
Contribute to internal methods notes, templates, and reusable deliverables.
3. Skills and Qualifications
PhD in Epidemiology or a closely related field, or near completion of a doctoral degree (candidates in the final stages of their PhD are encouraged to apply); alternatively, a Master's degree with substantial equivalent experience in epidemiological research.
Demonstrated experience with real-world data (registries, claims, EHR) and a strong foundation in observational study design.
Proven track record in data analysis, with a desire to expand into and take ownership of study design.
Experience working in a structured, deadline-driven environment, such as pharma, CRO, health consultancy, or public health, ideally across more than one setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Translates complex methodological concepts into clear language for non-specialist audiences (clients, internal stakeholders)
Writes with precision and clarity; adapts tone and level of detail to the audience
Confident in client-facing meetings: captures requirements, asks clarifying questions, and communicates implications for scope and timelines
