Job Title: Senior Manager, Epidemiology
Location: Ireland
Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Start Date: ASAP
About Us
We are a scientific and analytical company dedicated to providing strategic and scientific/research support to life science companies. Our mission is to tackle complex challenges with tailored solutions that enable our clients to innovate and thrive in the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
As a growing company, we are looking for a PhD or Master’s-level Epidemiologist. The position will be based in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in epidemiological methods, data analysis, and healthcare datasets, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will support strategic initiatives, conduct quantitative analyses, and contribute to research projects that shape decision-making for biotech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare organisations..
Role Overview
You will perform epidemiological research and project leadership activities using real-world healthcare data to support client programmes. You will lead less complex projects end-to-end and provide methodological and project management support on more complex, senior-led engagements. We expect the ideal candidate to contribute to the development of client proposals and engage in external research activities (conferences, webinars etc).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Project Leadership (as assigned)
Own day-to-day delivery for defined projects (e.g., descriptive epidemiology, burden of illness, treatment patterns).
Define research questions, eligibility criteria, time-zero, endpoints and estimands; contribute to protocol/SAP drafting and amendments.
Direct analysts/statisticians on implementation; perform and/or review analyses as required.
Prepare client-ready materials (methods, results, limitations, next steps) and present findings.
Project Support (as assigned, complex engagements)
Support senior staff on advanced studies (e.g., target-trial emulation, external control arms for regulatory/HTA use, quantitative bias analysis).
Operationally manage project execution, including initial quality control of work done by more junior colleagues.
Coordinate timelines, risks, and inter-team dependencies.
Methods, Quality and Governance
Under guidance, design observational studies using appropriate epidemiologic and causal-inference methods (e.g., PS matching/weighting, handling time-varying confounding where applicable, missing-data strategies) proportionate to project complexity.
Perform technical and narrative QC; ensure design matches strategic and scientific goals of our clients.
Contribute to internal methods notes, templates, and reusable internal and external deliverables.
Client and Internal Collaboration
Participate in client meetings; capture requirements and communicate implications for scope, timelines, and analysis plans.
Proposals: For complex engagements - Contribute to proposals, level-of-effort estimates, and statements of work under senior supervision; for simpler engagements - Lead the development of the proposal, defining project scope and ensuring that our experience is properly describes.
Provide day-to-day guidance to junior team members and share knowledge with the wider team.
Skills and Qualifications (role requirements)
Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or a closely related field (or Master’s with substantially equivalent experience).
Demonstrated experience with real-world data (registries, claims, EHR) and observational study design.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
